Hard to survive

Today i had some conversations with my fellow-workers about salaries and costs of living.
If you think that in your country people earn little, you should see how it is here in China, especially in such a small city (800 000 inhabitants).
Because in China there are so many people, companies do not care so much about salaries for their workers. Obviously, they can find many other people who can work, even for a lower salary.

Interesting is the fact that the poverty is not so visible in the street, people earn little money but still they go out, buy nice clothes, have expensive smartfon. This is still a mystery for me :D

It is said that average salary in China is 4000 rmb (more or less 660$) but for example in my hotel there are not many people who earn more!! Manager of the western restaurant earns 4000, after 4-5 years of working. Today i talked with one person from IT department. He has been working here for 4 years, he started with 1800 RMB and after 4 years he has only 3000!. My fellow workers earn 1200-2000 RMB per month. It is so hard to survive for this money and i think that this is the reason why young people are living with their parents untill their are married or even more.

There is no medium class here in Danyang. Either you are rich and you have a lot of money or you work for 2000 RMB and it is hard to live.
