Self-motivated

There are many moments in my life in which i ask myself - is this a right way? is it my destination? I tried many times to reply myself to these questions but to be honest i think it is not so easy to do.  I have impression that i did find my life-path and that my decision was right. There is one thing that really helps me to always look to the bright side of my life - self-motivation. Last years i have proved to many people and what is the most important i proved it to myself that IMPOSSIBLE is only in our mind and we do decide if it is really impossible or not. Few years ago i was totally different but because of my parents who helped me to improve myself i have change my point of view. Few years ago i did not want to self develop, i wanted just to live the simplest life i could, now... i am afraid that i will not have enough time to do what i would like to do. Today i talked with one chinese person who told me that he would like to go abroad to work. I asked him if he is doing something to make it happen. He replied - no. I asked him why? your dream is to go abroad so do it, nowadays everything is possible, it depends only on you. He said that he needs a lot of money to do it. Personally i do not think so. There are many ways how to start without spending a lot of money.

I really think that the problem with my chinese friend and with many other people which i have already met is that they are not self motivated enough. They are afraid of unknown. They are afraid that they will not succeed. But for me it would be worse if i would not try to risk. Life is too short not to risk. At my work i meet and talk with many successful business people from many countries. All of them were not afraid of trying. They did not succeed in the beginning, but it did not stop them. Creativity, ideas, motivation, willingness to risk  made them successful.

You know why i think that i have found my life-path?  Smile on my face every single day. I really would like to share this self-motivation with others. It is a great feeling, please do it for you and enjoy your life, dont let other stop you from realizing your own dreams.

my typical day in China

I will share with you how my typical days looks when i work afternoon shift (15.30-24.00)
1. I wake up at 9, sometimes at 8.30 (because in China, EVERYDAY a specific army car is driving through the main street and their fire from the gun to the air)- i already got used to.
2. I read some news about Poland and the world (terrible, terrible, terrible)
3. I go to the gym (you can imagine, gym is opened from 10 am!! and when i  go there at this hour, i am completely ALONE!! whole gym only for me :D)
4. I go all the time to the same restaurant to order the food after the gym and take it home. They already know me so it is a little bit easier than in other restaurants but still sometimes i need to say: ji rou(chicken), qie yixia (cut it please), dai zou(takeaway). I am there very often, but still there are some people who are STARING at me, taking photos or just gossiping about me( i hear all the time word Wai guo ren- foreigner, litteraly it means person from outside)
5. I go to home (still people are looking at me)
6. I go to work and it is bit better, still people look at me but i already got used to.

For me as a European this is very very strange. Nobody is looking at you so much, here it is quite normal.

I am so excited that i am going home for Christmas,  hope to see many of you soon!

Invitation

Today`s evening i spent on dinner with housekeeping department. I was invited by the manager of this department because i helped them to solve one big problem with foreign guest. Before going there i did not imagine that so many people would be there, there were 50 people. It was a nice feeling to see all these known by me faces. There were 6 tables. We started at 6 and as always in China, after you start eating- all the time GAMBEI (cheers - you must drink to the bottom of your glass). Firstly manager drunk with me and then i started going to other tables and finally i drunk 5 bottles of beer in 20 minutes. A lot, right i agree, but this is how they do it in China. The atmosphere there was amazing, quite old ladies started to dance, there was no communication barrier between me and others and we really had fun. Some of these people were drinking MILK to the dinner, does not matter- everybody was smiling and talking with each other.  It is  part of chinese culture that i really like and i admire.

I put some photos. Enjoy!

Aspects of life in China

I already started getting used to living here in China where on every step somebody is looking...sorry staring at you. This strange feeling when i am going to Auchan to buy something for myself and realise that some of other people look what did i put to a trolley. But it is ok, they do not see many times wei guo ren(wei =outside, guo=country, ren=people).

There are many advantages of being WEIGUOREN and also some disadvantages. Today i would like to focus on some advantages, when i will be in a bad mood, i will write some disadvantages. So  for example if you want to pick a girl in China or just make friends with other in the bar- no problem. To be honest what you really need to do is just wait, they will come to you. Because i am from abroad, they treat me very well, they are tough by their government that they should show how good they are to foreigners in order to show us(foreigners) that China is so nice and safe. This is really good.  And to be honest it is. I really feel more safe that in my own country.
Another advantage is that you can become local star very easily. I am here already 4 months and i have been already in one promotional video about working in the hotel and today i took part in local tv show. It was culinary show in which i was as a guest and my job was to try food and say HEN HAO CHI (which literally means Very tasty, good).

There are some things that i really miss, for example food, good environment, NO CHINESE PEOPLE :D
Kisses !

Christmas is coming

I already feel it that christmas is coming. It is so strange, i live in a country where Christmas is just a time celebrated by foreigners. Even though you can see christmas tree(today i  was decorating it), santa claus and other things connected with the western culture, you can realise that they do not understand it at all.

I remember from my childhood and now these memories are coming back to me, how important it was for my and my family. It is not only about christmas tree, gifts but the most important is to see your family. Now when  i am so far away from home, i can not wait for this christmas, to show to my family my love, how much did i miss them. I do not know if everyone from you was thinking about it, how important is to spend this time with the closest family but i can surely say that i can not wait for this time!

Take care!

They can`t stop me.

Hey everyone.
Really it is so difficult just to write blog from China. It is another time when i had to change my blog address. Fortunately by buying VPN account, i can start using again my old blog. No one will stop me from writing news from here :D.

So...
Many things happened until now. The most important is that i will stay in Danyang at least until july-august. I was thinking to move to another, bigger city but my boss convinced me, with higher salary and that i will get promoted! to stay here in Danyang. From January, my position will be called not GRO(guest relation officer) but Hotel Ambassador. It means that i will be a supervisor to GRO and Bellboys and i will focus on what i do the best which is to keep good relations mostly with foreigners. Because of foreigners`s compliments toward me and their satisfaction concerning service, my boss awarded me with new position. It is very nice, especially that i i work here only 4 months.

The second good thing is that i am coming back to Poland for CHRISTMAS!!!!! I said to my boss that christmas time is very important for me and if it is possible to go back to Poland for this time, she accepted it and i will be in Poland for 27 days!!!! I have already booked my tickets, so the exact dates are: 20.12.2013-15.12.2014. You can already plan to meet me this time!!!

So as you can read, everything goes well. I am happy everyday, my work is a pleasure for me(ok, sometimes boring).

You know... there are few things that i do not like in China, and i am not talking about the environment.
For example i hate when chinese try to cheat me. Here in China, when they see a foreigner, almost always they give you a higher price. And i had this situation twice. Once it was when i needed to buy a charger to my mobile phone. I went to one small shop and i asked how much, he said that not original one, costs 150 rmb!!!(70 zł). I just said thank you and went to another. In another shop, it was only 15 rmb (7 zł). Not easy life, right? Another time i needed to go to cut my hair. 2 months ago i went to hairdresser with my chinese teacher. I had to pay 38 rmb. When i went there alone, they wanted 58 rmb! but because i was angry and i didnt want to pay so much, i wrote them in translator on my mobile phone that the last time i paid only 38rmb. Guess what? She said ok, i had to pay only 38 rmb. So it is like they want you to pay more but if you have a problem with that, you dont have to. Crazy.

What i really do not like in chinese boys is their appearance. Normally if you work in 5star hotel, you should look professional. Not in China... Boys wear white or colorful socks to suit and ALL OF THEM have longer nails than women! It looks awful.

But what i really like is how people treat each other in the hotel. All of staff seems to be very close to each other. For example person who is cleaning, you call her AI(which means aunt). Generally chinese people use it, the same with man. Sometimes when i see a mother with a small baby, she says to her child "look, it is shushu(uncle). I really like this chinese politeness

My chinese is better and better. I have 3 lessons a week, i made a big progress and now i can have basic conversations in Chinese :D. It is so funny when chinese see me, say something about me and i reply to them :D They feel so shy embarrassed.

I have really perfect relations with foreign customers. All of them who are staying for a longer time, are my friends. Few days ago i met one girl from Uruguay. She was alone so i proposed her to go for a beer together. I wanted to go to the bar that i already knew, i did not remember the name of it so i asked my colleague. He wrote me the name but when we got out from a taxi, it turned out that it was not this bar... Never mind we said. We went to a small bar(5 maybe 6 tables). The owner was so shocked that foreigners found her bar(the owner is 24 years old). She gave us some beers for free and when we said that we want to go to another bar- she CLOSED her bar and she went with us. After we spent some time in another bar, she offered us to go back to her bar and drinks some more beers. THis could happen only in China.

I will try to give you some news more often. Hopefully it will be possible and my blog will work.

Celebration

Hello !
Sorry for not writing here for such a long time but i was bit busy these days.

2 days ago i went to another city to the Cinema (much better than in my city). Only 10 minutes by train (ok it is a train like in Poland- average speed is 280 km/h :D). The city seemed to be very nice, very colorful, more foreigners than in my city ( i still think that i am the only one :D ) and there are many things to do.

As most of you know, on 14.09 i have a birthday. Here in China i will be 25 years old. (they count from the time you was conceided) The time passes so fast, i still remember times when i was 18-19 but anyway... because of it, i decided to invite my fellow-workers for a dinner to the chinese restaurant. We were 11 people. As always chinese people showed my their hospitality, it was very nice, especially that i invited one guest from our hotel so i could talk in english - finally!

Here in China, you start with a cake, you make a wish and then blow out the candles. I hope my wish will hope true, but to be more sure i will not only hope but DO everything to make it real.

From the moment i came here i am very motivated, happy almost every day. Such a beautiful feeling, when you open your eyes with a smile on your face. I hope it will last for a long time. Here in the hotel i am well known thanks to my SMILE and because of this my new chinese name is GAO XING ( which mean - happy).

I miss my family and friends but i also know that i can rely on you and i have your big support even though i am so far away. I am so happy because i know that there are some of you who are so far away from me but still care about me. In a situation like this you can really realise who is your real friend.
Miss you sooo much! Kisses!

Where is the LOVE?

I really can not understand it, why chinese people are willing to get married without love. This is one of chinese habits which is hard to catch.

Why would you like to spend whole your life with a person towards who you do not feel love??
I grew up in the society in which it was one of the most important factor which  should taken under consideration before getting married.  If you love somebody, if you feel butterflies in your stomach, it gives you much more pleasure, you really want to spend your time with this person. For me personally, being with somebody without feeling something towards her is waste of time and i cant enjoy moments then, which in fact are the most important in our life.

But from the other hand, as one chinese person  told me, desire and love after some time will fly away. After some time, not love but the character of another person will be the most important, how this person behave, treat others, if you are creative together.

After some time i have realised that maybe chinese point of view is not so stupid. When you are in love, you do not realise many things about another person, you see only good things. Afterwards you find out how many things are hard for you to accept.

Being with someone without feeling love in China is something natural, many people do it. Most often parents are the reason why young people are getting married without love. They find the partner for them. In China young people listen to their parent`s will and are ready to be related to somebody who was choosen by them.

Today my fellow-worker told me that she will be married until next year. When i asked her how many times did they meet before and if she loves him, she said that they met only 3 times, she does not love him because she does not know him well and their next meeting will be just before their wedding!!

Crazy, right?

Small trip

Today i had a free day from work and because of it i was invited by one of my fellow-worker to her house, which is located in a countryside. I went there with other two people. It was another great experience, i saw many new places, i met new people(of course they did not speak english:P) and i had a lot of fun. After we ate lunch together with her family, we went to the STONE PARK. It is a very beautiful place, many old monuments, many playgrounds, museum, and wonderful scenery. This time there were no people there so it was even more interesting.
